BOTTLE SORTING PLANT
Processing at Hemswell
One of the most technically advanced plants in Europe, much of Hemswell’s sorting technology is provided by Norwegian company Titech. The PET bottles segregated at the plant are granulated, dry washed and then sent on within our facility for washing and extrusion into rPET pellet. Currently all other segregated streams will either be shredded and washed, or baled in their current form and supplied to our large portfolio of external reprocessing partners.
The plastic recovered from the bottles ends up in a wide variety of new plastic products such as food packaging, drinks bottles, fleece jackets, pipes, toys etc. Hemswell is the largest plastic bottle sorting plant in the UK; able to handle 140,000 ton per annum.
WE HAVE THE PRECISION SEPARATION EQUIPMENT AND SUPERIOR CLEANING TECHNOLOGY TO PROCESS UP TO 140,000 TONNES OF PLASTIC BOTTLES EVERY YEAR. THAT'S THE EQUIVALENT OF 2 BILLION TWO-LITRE PLASTIC BOTTLES.
